UNIMAID 2025/2026 Post-UTME & Direct Entry Screening — Requirements & How to Apply
The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has announced the 2025/2026 Post-Admission Screening Exercise
for UTME and Direct Entry candidates. The screening will run from Monday, 11 August 2025
and end on Thursday, 11 September 2025. There will be no extension
beyond the stated closing date, so candidates should complete their registration promptly.
Who is eligible for UNIMAID Admissions?
To participate in the screening exercise you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Only candidates who selected University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) as their first choice in the 2025/2026 JAMB UTME or Direct Entry are eligible.
- UTME candidates must have a minimum UTME score of 150, except where a higher cut-off is specified for certain courses on the UNIMAID website.
- Candidates must meet the correct UTME subject combination for their chosen course as prescribed in the 2025 JAMB brochure.
- Candidates who do not meet the course requirements will be allowed to change to another course only if they meet that course's requirements.
- All candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) O’Level credits in subjects relevant to their proposed course, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB).
- Direct Entry candidates must have at least a Lower Credit at National Diploma/HND level or a Merit at NCE level (as applicable).
- Only O’Level result printouts downloaded directly from the examination body websites (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) or photocopies of original certificates will be accepted for verification.
- Candidates must ensure their O’Level results are uploaded to their JAMB CAPS profile before the screening.
UNIMAID Screening Fee
All candidates must pay a non-refundable screening fee of ₦2,000 (Two Thousand Naira). Payment is made through the REMITA platform using the UNIMAID portal.
Step-by-step Application Procedure (How to register)
Follow these steps to complete your UNIMAID Post-UTME / DE registration and screening:

Visit the UNIMAID portal:
Go to www.unimaid.edu.ng and click the
Post-UTME Screening 2025 link.

Login:
Use your JAMB registration number as the username and the temporary password
umstad@2025 to sign in.

Upload passport photo:
Upload a recent passport photograph (file size less than 200KB) and set a new password.

Generate payment invoice:
Enter your phone number and email address, then click Generate to create the REMITA payment invoice.

Make payment:
Pay the ₦2,000 screening fee using the REMITA details provided (follow on-screen instructions).

Complete bio-data and upload documents:
Fill in your personal information, enter your O’Level results, and upload required documents (O’Level printout or photocopies, any Direct Entry certificates where applicable).

Submit application:
Review all entries and submit your application. Keep a copy or print-out of your application slip and payment receipt.
Documents to prepare for upload and verification
- Printed copy of O’Level result(s) downloaded from WAEC/NECO/NABTEB website or photocopies of original certificates.
- JAMB registration slip and JAMB registration number.
- Direct Entry certificates (ND, NCE, HND) with transcripts if applying by DE (where applicable).
- Government-issued ID and birth certificate or age declaration (if required).
- Evidence of payment (REMITA receipt) and application printout.
Important notes & tips
- Make sure names and personal details are consistent across all documents (JAMB, O’Level, Direct Entry certificates) to avoid verification problems.
- Upload your O’Level result to JAMB CAPS before applying — this is compulsory for verification and admission processing.
- Some programmes may require higher UTME cut-off marks than the general minimum of 150 — check the UNIMAID website or admissions office for course-specific cut-offs.
- Keep printed copies of your application slip and REMITA payment receipt for future verification and documentation.
- There will be no extension of the screening window. Start early to avoid technical or payment delays.
